The 2nd International Fireground Survival Championship will take place in Sanming, China from 19 to 25 October 2026. This is an international event focused on firefighter survival, Mayday response, firefighter rescue and operational teamwork. To follow updates see Official Facebook event page.

About the Championship

The 2nd International Fireground Survival Championship will bring together fire and rescue teams, instructors, referees and observers from China and other countries. The event is focused on practical firefighter survival skills, teamwork, communication, Mayday procedures and the rescue of a downed firefighter. It is not only a competition. It is also a platform for international exchange, operational learning and the development of safer fireground practices.

The event will include:

  • competition challenges,
  • venue familiarisation,
  • referee and team briefings,
  • equipment exhibition,
  • cultural activities,
  • an international seminar,
  • an official awards dinner.

Preliminary schedule
Please note: the programme is preliminary and may be adjusted by the organisers.

  • 19 October 2026: Participant Registration. Arrival, registration and organisational support for teams and guests.
  • 20 October 2026: Base tour and competition venue familiarisation. Referee meeting, event briefing and draw.
  • 21 October 2026: observation of national Chinese competition activities and operational preparation.
  • 22 October 2026: Competition day (Opening Ceremony / Group Photo Session / Equipment Exhibition / Competition Venue Walkthrough / Qualifying Matches / Chinese Cultural Experience).
  • 23 October 2026: Semi-finals & Finals. Awards Dinner
  • 24 October 2026: International Seminar. Lectures, presentations and international exchange focused on firefighter safety, rescue and operational experience.
  • 25 October 2026: Departure. Return travel and organised departure assistance.

Competition Focus
The Championship is designed to test and develop the following areas:

  • firefighter survival,
  • Mayday response,
  • rescue of a downed firefighter,
  • work in breathing apparatus,
  • team communication,
  • situational awareness,
  • controlled movement in restricted spaces,
  • safe and effective firefighter extraction.

Competition scenarios are subject to final confirmation.

Who Can Participate
The event is intended for firefighter survival and RIT teams:

  • professional firefighters,
  • volunteer firefighters,
  • industrial fire brigades,
  • military fire services,
  • official observers and invited guests.

Final team composition, eligibility requirements and competition rules will be published separately.

Travel Information
The competition will take place in Shaxian District, Sanming City, Fujian Province, China. Participants may arrive through:

  • Shaxian Airport - SQJ: Domestic airport. Participants may book a connecting flight within China with Shaxian Airport as the final destination. The organisers will provide airport pick-up.
  • Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport - XMN:  Airport pick-up and organised shuttle transport will be provided by the organisers.
  • Fuzhou Changle International Airport - FOC: Airport pick-up and organised shuttle transport will be provided by the organisers.
  • Sanmingbei Railway Station: Organised pick-up will also be available from Sanmingbei Railway Station.

Participants will be asked to provide their arrival and departure details in advance. Airport transfers will operate only within designated arrival and departure windows. Participants should not book flights before receiving transfer confirmation from the organisers. Further inquiry:


Accommodation
The planned official hotel is:
Mingcheng Xincheng Hotel. No. 5, Qiujiang Yingbin Avenue. Shaxian District, Sanming City, Fujian Province, China
The hotel is approximately 5.8 km from the competition venue and around 11 minutes away by car.
Final accommodation arrangements will be confirmed directly with registered teams and official guests.

Required Equipment

Participants should bring their own personal protective equipment. The organisers currently plan to provide breathing apparatus equipment, including:

  • facepieces,
  • backplates and harnesses,
  • air cylinders.

A detailed PPE list, equipment compatibility information and inspection procedure will be published before the event. Teams should not purchase or transport additional equipment based only on this preliminary information. Final equipment requirements will be confirmed separately.

Registration does not automatically guarantee participation. Final confirmation will be provided by the organisers. The maximum number of teams and final registration deadline will be announced separately.
